Interesting interview in ABC Classic FM with one of the astronomers from AAO. Nice for a public demonstation of the human-ness of astronomers - thoughts outside the public cliches... Yes, we have our share of wierdos but the cliches of glasses, computer fixation and no interests outside astronomy are a little untrue. Although admittedly, most astronomers don't paint bits of the Sydney Opera House roof as a protest against the war in Iraq...

The 1st half of that list could be ditched with little loss to the film world. Though the meme evoloution and tracking psychology may be interesting in terms of where tastes and peer groups jump...

Saw Being John Malkovich several years back and that was nicely wierd, so should catch up with the rest.
Now Cruel Intentions is the modern day remake of Dangerous Liasons (?)(or at least the book it is based on), so should also be checked.
O Brother Where Art Thou was good to see with a Classicist for the myriad of Odyssey references, many of which I would have failed to grok on my own. And just plain fun.
