Mmmmm biltong... Well, to be accurate, biltong flavoured beef jerky, since we are using a dehydrator. Meat is currently marinating overnight, with a load of dried apple just finished in the dehydrator.

Notes for next time:
Yes, using M&D's blender to crush the coriander is so much easier that a crushing ball or a rockhammer.
Don't get a papercut the day before hand under one of your nails - it doesn't like sugar, salt, pepper or coriander being rubbed in. Mind you, it also hasn't liked the amount of sewing either.

But the undertunic is now completely finished. Braes are still at the wearable as opposed to finished stage, but wont take too long to fix that. Wool tunic is in the process of sewing up the remaining side, then it will be cuffs, hems and seam finishing.

Sleep soon would be good.

But a brief weekend recap:
Fri evening: Burns night in good company hosted by A&M, with K, J, S&T. Mmmm haggis. Hmmm dodgy very blunt scottish poetry.
Sat: Refried haggis for breakfast. Definite Mmmmmmm. I sewed, Z read. Laundry etc. Party for [livejournal.com profile] xenogram's birthday in evening. Good music and good company til rather late :)
Sun: Caught up on some sleep. More sewing and packing for CF. Quick library and groceries in mid afternoon. More sewing and packing.

Now sleep.

Thanks for bringing the Biltong to CF and for posting the recipe, it was sooo yummy. I'm all inspired... but I let the dehydrator go in the settlement... Oh well, I huess I'll just have to buy another!
