Snigger for the day

I can understand the industry cashing in on the Tolkien and Lord of the Rings phenomena. I can understand accademic critiques being published - I remember having fun reading such texts in the late 90s. Hence Tolkien's Mythology For England: A Middle-Earth Companion by Edmund Wainwright is not suprising.
What I don't get, is that given it never even turned up in the movie, why is there a photo of NZ's Mitre Peak on the cover? I don't remember the Ring making it to Fiordland. It would have been eaten by a Takehe or drowned with a Moose...
