mmm fire...
And so the burn-off of the chopped down partially burnt pine trees surrounding Mt Stromlo continues... 20m long and several m high piles of wood getting burnt up and down the mountain. They have been doing this for a while, while the weather is not too hot, not too dry and not too windy*. Only now however, have they moved onto the ones this close and this early in the day.
Yay to watching 5-10m high flames from the safety of my office:) Clouds formed by the heat should be interesting...
I should probably remember to close my window at some point soon.
*Having gotten to go home early yesterday due to power cuts (10:45am - 9:30pm) on the mountain from lines down in strong winds...
Edit: Unfortunately using handheld flamethrowers, rather than the helicopter dropping flaming stuff - you can't have everything...
