While waiting for the caffiene to set in...
I had a cockatoo and 2 rosellas munching on my window ledge:)
3 kangaroos, LOTS of rosellas and more cockatoos on the walk in this morning as well as a pair of the grey headed and red headed (gender division?) creaky parrots that we saw (and photographed) on campus on Fri.
Work has very nice HOT showers:) And after returning from my shower, I found a postcard from Norway on my desk - from Mum and Dad on their Cruise ship passing through Trollfjorden. And it has a very cool ship on the stamp with 6 levels of rectangular sails. Googling on the phrase "Statsraad Lehmkuhl" from the stamp turns up the following link: Tall ship close up: Statsraad Lehmkuhl. And it would be good to be floating through fiords at this point in time. (Though I think Mum and Dad have left the fiords already - back the day or two before the elections,
alpha_angel?)
And I should remember to photocopy those articles from the Aug 27 2005 New Scientist on global warming and glaciers (though want to check their history on Franz Joseph) and male parenting... Will I get looked at funny for delighting in males being influenced hormonally at this point in time? Not exactly bad effects though. Hmph.
And either caffiene increases period pain (I had been doing so well...) or the panadiene has worn off... or both... or neither... I spend too much time napping at my desk anyway.
Weekend was rainy and had some good thunderstorms, especially durring the pirate party (which included SCAdians whom some of you may have met at CF this year - was funny to see the CF 2005 bag hanging off the seat). Scores included straw "brushwood" fence for roofing/covering use at Beorgwic site (AusJunk), high quality waxed linen thread and 3 hardback ex-library books for $3 including Terry Pratchett's The Truth (Yay YMCA and the people at the Jamison store willing to set aside thread and possible rope stuff). Now if I can just pry Z's hands off the book/get him to finish reading it, but that has been delayed by dish washing, defrosting the freezer, tent sewing, working and other such silly interuptions.
Yep, definitely take 3/4 asleep and not hurting to awake but... Perfect state for establishing that a program is not working...
I think that is a random enough assortment for a while...
