An update

My brain comes up with the best LJ posts on the way home, walking between work and the railway station. Then I get engrossed in a book on the train and have forgotten most of it by the time I finish walking home. That and it is time to cook dinner, Z is on the computer.... and generally a bunch of things just don't get posted about.

Oh well.

Yesterday was 4 year Civil Union anniversary. We got organized and actually met up in town to go out to dinner. The first one we planned to go to looked too loud and publike, so wombled up Cuba Street. Next Pizza Pomodoro was considered and eventually found (with a bit of backtracking), but it was takeaway, no seating and the wind was slightly below howling gale. So we ended up at Cha - a chinese tea house which does nice cheap food and a wide array of teas. The honey red date longan iced tea was interesting and I will have to make my way through more of their teas. Next stop the nearly New World - pricy, but wide selection and they had the Richfields dark peppermint chocolate I had previously only seen in Moore Wilson... and Whitticars for 2 for $5. Slight stock up there. Then there was a stroll along the waterfront in a howling northery wind and rain. Rather fun :) All in all, a good evening.

DA was good. Lots of relaxing and embroidering, with good progress made on the blackworked coif. Poked at the woven legbindings only to discover that due to the narrowness, I have enough for about 1 and a half legs. Oops. Will try again, but twice the width for the same length, so should definitely get 2 legs worth of coverage.

Devilled sausages on the stove and potatoes boiling for smashed spuds. Fingers crossed, should be ready soon.
