Yesterday was fun :)
Made it to a book launch*: Life on the Edge: The book version of the NZ online encyclopedia Te Ara, section on natural hazards and disasters such as landslides, volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis (under Earth, Sea and Sky)**. Was fun to see that Mum was a contributing author on all bar one of the chapters. There was free food with only short speeches, which was fun, with Mum getting a free copy presented to her. Then we wombled down the hill and had nice Malaysian food at a restaurant before drooling over wooden toys and stuff and heading off to A&S. Much reference discussion :). Eventually dropped
alpha_angel off and went home via Aotea Quay (yes, a slight detour and wrong lane switch to those who know - not many options if you muck up in Ngauranga Gorge). Then I had fun downloading Swedish archeology articles til 1:30am (still haven't finished looking) while Z had his head in a book. Ooops :)
*Eventually as there was a little issue of not remembering the street number and overshooting a little. Got there eventually (yay for K and txting) and in time with a very good parking spot across the road, which for The Terrace is somewhat miraculous.
** Now onsale at your local Whitcauls in time for Christmas at $39.95, as advertised in the latest paper spam in the letterbox, which was fun to see today. It should be available at good booksellers in NZ as well.
