Not a bad evening :)
Firstly made it to the library and stocked up with books. This is always a good thing (unless you have things due or exams...). So late this afternoon was spent with Diana Wynne Jones's The Darklord of Derkholm (the accompanying novel to The Tough Guide to Fantasyland), occasionally with a cat or two on the lap. Then there was a nice dinner (ham on the bone is always so much nicer than the other stuff), and more reading (finished it and started on Wintersmith). This was enhanced by a beanbag and a roaring fire (well, a nice toasty fire in a woodburner). There was a pause and a wander out onto the balcony to watch the local fireworks display down in the valley (lots of pretty sparkles completely unsynchronised with the bangs), then back to reading with a brief accompaniment of custard and christmas pudding... in the bean bag with the fire.
I'd probably be there still and Z will be there for a while with the latest LKH (apparently it has plot!?!), but I finished the book. And some sleep at some point would be a good idea, so I wont start another book... yet.
