That blackwork I mentioned, pictures now up here onwards.

Yes, I go for the insanely detailed stuff. There should be a couple more photos once I get around some Coraldraw issues. I should also get some photos of the back for posterity as well, but Z has the camera at work.

Down to 2 squares now.

I particularly like the leafy pattern on the left of the second picture. Where did you get the design? (I suspect I would do it about twice the size you are working at, but I am looking for some patterns for a shirt and that one is very cool)

Design 2, Plate 44, The New Carolingian Modelbook by Kim Brody Salazar. 1995, The Outlaw Press, ISBN 0964208229

Which is according to the book notes:

Acanthas Meandering Border Repeat

Source: Charted by editor from illustration of original artifact. Spanish blackwork sampler of counter thread paterns done in very late 16th century/ early 17th century. Pictured in Drysdale, Rosemary. The Art of Blackwork Embroidery. New York: Charles Schribner's Sons, 1975, page 33.

Basically decided to work through the book starting on Plate 44 (the blackwork stuff), but skipped the first design because it was rather large.
